midnight magnetic poetry inspiration II

The freedom of nature
makes it easy to
appear in command.

We are not.

Scream all you want,
try to balance life,
but everyone said
it would never work.

Welcome to America,
sweetheart.

Home of
baseball, apple pie,
& the electric president.

God bless the USA.

Alphabet Soup

Alphabet soup and the letters
spell out, “I MISS YOU.”
But I ate my words and
looked for some new.
Another spoon brought
“YOU MISS ME,” too.

I added some salt
to spice the phrase.
“I LOVE YOU,” came,
and I was amazed
that a soup knew my
mind, and satiates.

One Bite at a Time

Bitter and angry,
you take on the
world one bite
at a time, one
bite at a time.

For a small fee
you would even
sell your heart
to me, sell your
heart to me.

You are lovely,
but you don’t
believe me when
I say, when I say
you are lovely.

You sit in a tree,
waiting for me
to come save
you, to come
and save you.

Crying, “Hurry,
Hurry!” I am
coming as fast
as I can, just as
fast as I can.

If you’d let me,
I would take the
fall for you, I
would take the
fall for you.

Somewhere,
someone is singing
Moon River and
I am crying out,

“You are the instrument
of my dream,
a beautiful mess,
but I promise,

I love you.”

Keep the Change

Silent death
in reverie-
whispering,

“I need a
change, I
need to die.”

Die to here,
die to all of
yesterday.

“Why am I
living inside
yesterday?”

Live for all
of today, for
all tomorrow.

“Tomorrow
escapes me,
yet again.”

And yet by
tomorrow, I
have changed.

“Changed and
yet I am still,
still the same.”

Keep all the
change, we’re
always the same.
